Battolyser Systems takes important next step to increase production capacity

Schiedam, 2 March 2023

This week we have received the keys to our new Battolyser® facility in Schiedam. With over 7,000m2, this location can accommodate all our activities and provide space for further growth. These premises will house our production activities and laboratory with electrode, cell and full system testing, and provide ample office space for all our engineering and other staff.

We will be setting up our first production line to assemble Battolyser® 2 stacks in this location, gradually phasing in automated workstations, increasing our production capacity and safeguarding product quality over the next two years. The annual production capacity will grow to 50MW in 2024, with the full integration of automated steps.

All the manufacturing, design, quality control and automation lessons learned will be integrated in our next factory, which is currently being developed in the Merwe-Vierhaven area (M4H) in Rotterdam. This 1GW factory will be ready to commence operations in 2025.

Our current business relocation will allow us to grow as a company and keep all our activities under one roof, maintaining short lines of communication and enabling the rapid iteration cycles required for our product development. This move is a big step forward in setting up our Battolyser® production capacity, supporting the energy transition towards a net zero world, and establishing a Dutch hydrogen supply chain – making a solid contribution to the  Netherlands’ hydrogen ambitions. All in all, it will bring us significantly closer to achieving our mission of ‘Always Clean Energy’.
